The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has arrested and is presently trying an officer, Sergeant Onuh Makedomu, who was caught receiving bribe from an innocent Nigerian.
The police public relations officer, Frank Mba, revealed on the NPF's official Facebook page on Sunday, November 11, that Makedomu was on special duty with the safer highways patrol in Lagos.
Mba said that the sergeant is on trial on a two count charge of discreditable conduct and corrupt practices at the provost department of the state command of the force.
On his part, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Adamu, ordered the innocent Nigerian to take back his money extorted from him by the policeman.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a Twitter user identified as Steve Kinton narrated how he was harassed and assaulted by a policeman in Lagos.
According to Kinton, the policeman who was captured on video but is yet to be identified reportedly strangled him until he fainted.
So, when a policewoman identified as Faith Jacob, shared beautiful photos of herself on Twitter and added that police officers were friends of the people, Nigerian youths came for her with stories to dismiss her claim.
According to Jacob, the Nigerian police have come for a change and they demand the support and the right attitude towards them.
But some Nigerian youths are of the opinion that the policewoman did not mean what she wrote as she only came to post her fine photos.
