2023 Presidency: Ohanaeze youths issue stern warning to Osinbajo, Atiku
- Southeast youths under umbrella of Ohanaeze Youth Council Worldwide say incumbent vice president, Osinbajo should not set sights on 2023 presidential elections
- The youths also warned former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, not to also bow to pressure to contest for the 2023 slot
- The youths have already begun plans to bring power to the southeast region in 2023
The Ohanaeze Youth Council Worldwide has warned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and fellow politician, former vice president, Abubakar Atiku, not to think about running in 2023 presidential elections because it is the turn of the southeast region.
Vanguard reports that the youths issued the warnings in a statement by their council's president-general, Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
Isiguzoro, who sympathised with Osinbajo over claims of a rift between him and President Muhammadu Buhari, argued that the professor of law stood no chance of succeeding Buhari after his tenure ends in 2023.
He claimed that it was better if Osinbajo resigned his position in the presidency over the alleged reduction of his powers.
Legit.ng notes that the presidency had earlier negated Isiguzoro's claim on Osinbajo when it cleared the air on the matter, saying there was no rift between the Number 1 and 2 citizens.
The presidency also released another statement on Friday, November 8 explaining why some aides in the office of the vice president were sacked recently.
Meanwhile, Isiguzoro also issued a warning to candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential elections, Atiku, to drop plans of another shot at the top job.
He claimed that the council was aware of pressure being put on Atiku to run again in 2023, but warned him to stay away.

Isiguzoro said he urges "Atiku never to yield to Pressure to battle for 2023 PDP ticket as he should show maturity and reciprocate the gesture of Igbo in 2019 by supporting a Nigerian President of Igbo stock 2023."
The latest statement by the council came several days after Legit.ng reported that it urged southeast governors and senators to defect from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress as it perfected moves for the emergence of a southeast president in 2023.
According to the youth group, it sort the willing defection to APC of at least two southeast governors and some key senators.
