Police reportedly uncover another illegal rehab centre in Adamawa, free 15 hostages

- Another illegal rehabilitation centre has been reportedly discovered in Adamawa state

- The police reportedly freed 15 hostages from the illegal rehab centre which is reportedly located at Wuri-Hausa Yola town

- An unnamed old man was allegedly running the centre with the help of some young persons working for him

The police in Adamawa have reportedly uncovered another illegal reformation home in the state and freed 15 hostages.

Nigerian Tribune reports that police operatives freed the victims after raiding the house which is reportedly located at Wuri-Hausa Yola town.

According to the newspaper, an eye-witness said the police found over 15 victims who had been illegally detained by an old man and some young persons who were reportedly working for him.

In a similar development, security officials in Kaduna state have reportedly discovered two unregistered rehabilitation facilities in Zaria where inmates undergo torture.

The rescued victims from the illegal facilities were taken to the Kaduna state capital where they were received by the state deputy governor, Hadiza Balarabe, in the company of other senior officials of the Kaduna government.

The deputy governor said the freed victims would undergo medical checks before the next move.

The Kaduna state government and security agencies have been raiding several illegal rehabilitation centres in parts of the state where victims are subjected to inhumane treatment.

One of such facilities was discovered on Saturday, October 19, in the Rigasa area of Kaduna state where 147 victims were rescued.

Those rescued from the facility popularly known as Malam Niga’s rehabilitation included 22 females and four foreigners.
