Buhari meets with the Economic Advisory Council

- President Buhari is meeting with his Economic Advisory Council

- EAC will advise the president on fiscal analysis, economic growth

- The president constituted the EAC, made of Prof Soludo and other members in September 2019

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday, October 9, meet with the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) in the State House, Abuja.

The EAC was constituted to advise the president on economic policy matters.

Going further, they will also advise the president on fiscal analysis, economic growth; and a range of internal & global economic issues.

This was disclosed in a tweet by the presidency. Read below:

Meanwhile, secretary of the EAC, Dr Mohammed Adaya Salisu, holds a PhD (1990) in Economics from Lancaster University, UK; a 1986 MSc in Economics from University of Maiduguri, Nigeria; and a 1982 Bachelors degree in Economics from same school.

Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng had reported that Buhari constituted an Economic Advisory Council.

The president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, made the development public in a mail sent to Legit.ng on Monday, September 16.

The EAC is made up of Prof Doyin Salami (chairman), Dr Mohammed Sagagi (vice chairman), Prof Ode Ojowu (member), Dr Shehu Yahaya (member), 6. Prof Chukwuma Soludo (member) and others.

The advisory council will replace the Economic Management Team (EMT) and will be reporting directly to President Buhari.
