Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has every reason to be grateful to God as she clocked 58 on Sunday, September 29.
The actress took to her Instagram page to celebrate her new year, noting that she has been through a lot of life’s challenges but they did not swallow her.
Silva, who started her career in the early 90s, is no doubt one of the most loved and decorated actresses in the Nigerian movie industry. She has featured in many films and Television series.

Thanking God for how far she has come, she said: “58 years ..the waters did not drown me the fire did not burn me... I smelt of smoke sha....thank you Lord for your many mercies... for your many blessings.”

Her first award was in 2006 when she won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2nd Africa Movie Academy Awards for her performance in Women's Cot.
Silva is married to a fellow actor, Olu Jacobs, and they are one of the most admired couples in the industry. The couple owns a media and entertainment service company where Silva is the assistant chairman.
In September 2014, Silva received recognition as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
