Osinbajo says corruption is fighting back

- The vice president states that he current administration has implemented social investment programmes to empower Nigerians

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has disclosed that the fight against corruption is being resisted by the corrupt menace and that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing everything possible to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

He made the disclosure during a convocation lecture at the Osun State University on Saturday, September 21, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

He said the Buhari led-administration would continue to fight against corruption to move Nigeria forward.

The vice president stated that though the corruption menace was fighting back, he declared that its kicks would not deter governments resolve to flush it.

He noted that the Buhari administration had implemented social investment programmes to empower Nigerians and lift them out of poverty.

“The federal government is investing in infrastructure, agriculture, education, power, technology, innovation and social investment programmes to empower Nigerians.

“On a daily basis, the Federal Government feeds 9.5 million children under its National School Feeding Programme in 26 states in the country," he said.

“Already, 520 Nigerians have been engaged under the N-Power programme, while tradermoni programme to empower petty traders is still ongoing."

In a related report, Yemi Osinbajo has said it is very important and more beneficial for Nigeria as a nation to remain together, than to be apart.

Speaking on Saturday, September 21 in Osun state, he faulted the narrative that the diversity of Nigeria was a setback, noting that great nations stay together despite their diversity.

The vice president said Nigeria must be united in order to achieve its manifest destiny of leading Africa and the world.
