Paul Pogba is set to refuse Manchester United's contract offer in a bid to secure his dream move to join Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

The Red Devils are looking to keep the France international as long as they can at Old Trafford after successfully protecting him from joining Madrid this summer.

But despite the 26-year-old giving his 100 per cent to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, he still believes his future lies at the Santiago Bernabeu.

United placed a massive £180million on the Frenchman after Zinedine Zidane made his compatriot his number one target this summer.

Pogba has two years left on his deal with United and the Premier league club also have the option in extending the contract for a further year

The former Juventus midfielder knows he stands a better chance of leaving United if he refuses to sign a new deal at Old Trafford.

On the other hand, Zidane has been angry his employers have been unable to seal a deal for Pogba this year.

Solskjaer has continued to affirmed that Pogba would still be at Old Trafford after the 1-1 draw with Southampton at Saint Mary's.

"Paul Pogba will be playing for us," he told Daily Mail

Pogba was seen limping after the game but Solskjaer is confident that there is no cause for alarm ahead of the international break.

"He twisted his ankle I think but he'll go away on international duty now and hopefully it's not too bad and he can play for France because I know how much he loves his country and playing for them," Solskjaer added.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Paul Pogba has not been overlooked by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as the European transfer window is set to close on September 2.

Los Blancos have not made any official offer for the France international despite being linked to the Santiago Bernabeu.
