Farooq Kperogi: Nigerian-American lecturer wins award in Canada for his research paper

- Farooq Kperogi, an associate professor of journalism and emerging media at Kennesaw State University, has won an award with his research paper

- The award was given at the 102nd annual convention of the Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) in Toronto, Canada on Friday, August 9

- Kperogi is also a columnist and an author of the book titled Glocal English & Grammar Buff

A Nigerian-American academic, Farooq Kperogi, has won an award at the 102nd annual convention of the Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) in Toronto, Canada.

Kperogi on his official twitter account said that he won the award on Friday, August 9. According to him, the man who handed the award to him was overjoyed even more than him, the recipient.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Jamiu Temitope Aliyu, a Nigerian science teacher from Abuja, was selected by the European Council for Nuclear Research for the International Teachers Programme in Switzerland.

Aliyu was among 48 honoured teachers selected from 39 countries across six continents of the globe.

He said that he was one of the two Africans from the 39 countries, adding that he believes he has really been helped by God.

Another Nigerian, Onyinyechi Iwuoha, an associate in ǼLEX’s Banking and Finance Practice Group, was selected for International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) for its flagship secondment programme.

Under the programme, the Nigerian lawyer will be working with the Latham & Watkins (London) from September to December 2019. It should be noted that Onyinyechi has been a promising lawyer and outstanding associate and was ranked by International Financial Law Review 1000.

As an associate of the ǼLEX’s Banking and Finance Practice Group, she gives informed advises to Nigerians and foreigners on complex loan transactions, as well as serves as supervisors of other associates.
