Hassan Kajoke: Malawian striker awarded chicken for man of the match performance

It is standard practice in football that players who stage exemplary performances during match days are appreciated.

Often, a man of the match award is given to the outstanding player who can be from either team, although the player is generally selected from the winning team.

And on Sunday, July 21, Hassan Kajoke, a Malawian striker who turns out for Nyasa Big Bullets emerged the standout player in a league match pitting his side and minnows Karonge United TNM.

The Super League match staged at Kamuzu Stadium saw Nyasa Big Bullets wallop their opponents 5-0, with Kajoke bagging a brace to win the man of the match award.

Bizarrely for him, he would only have a chicken to fry to feel appreciated for his spectacular performance.

At the blow of the whistle, Kajoke was offered a chicken from an anonymous fan who strangely asked for permission to present his gift.

The seemingly ardent supporter had the chicken spread with red colors, to represent colors worn by the Super League giants.

The club posted the photo of Kajoke receiving the chicken on their Facebook page, generating mixed reactions from social media users.

Meanwhile, whereas the gesture may have been out of goodwill, the presentation has been subjected to unending trolls.
