Kofi Kingston has defied all odds to become the World Wrestling Entertainment's newest world heavyweight champion.

The 37-year-old achieved his recent feat following his triumph over Daniel Bryan during the Wrestlemania 35 on Sunday, April 7, at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Kingston got his career started in late 2005 but it was not until 2006 that he made his professional debut.

1. Birth: Kingston was born in Kumasi on August 14, 1981, to Elizabeth and Kwasi Sarkodie-Mensah.

He was christened Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah. Kofi had a brother, Kwame, and a sister Nana Akua, who passed away in 2015.

2. Education: Kofi and his family moved to the United States when he was young and they settled in Massachusetts where he attended Winchester High School. After high school, he got a degree in communication from Boston College.

3. Wrestling career: According to Thefamouspeople.com, Kingston, ever since he was a kid, had wanted to wrestle. So he gave up his corporate job to follow his dream.

Kingston had his wrestling training in 2005 and made his debut in 2006 for Chaotic Wrestling with the story of him being a Jamaican.

Later in 2006, he signed a developmental contract with WWE and made his main WWE debut in 2008.

4. Awards: The WWE World Heavyweight Championship win adds to the four WWE Intercontinental Championship, three WWE US Championship, and four WWE (Raw) Tag Team Championship Kingston has won in his career.

By his win, Kingston has become the first African-born person to ever hold the WWE World Championship.

5. Personal Life:

Kofi Kingston is married to an actress, Kor Campfield and the couple have two sons, Khi and Orion. Apart from wrestling, Kofi likes other sports like American football, baseball, and basketball.

Seth Rollins also did the impossible on the night after overpowering Brock 'The Beast' Lesnar to claim the WWE Universal Championship fight at the same venue.
