Mohamed Salah is wearing a new looking as the Liverpool striker clean-shaved his beards which got teammates and fans talking.

The 26-year-old took to his Instagram story to show off the new look, uploading a selfie with a sad face with his bottom lip out.

But the Egypt international also posted a selfie in what looks to be his car, with the the man-covering-face emojis.

And it received a mixed reaction across social media platforms.

Teammate Jordan Henderson liked the post while Dejan Lovren commented: "Ok now I believe you that u are 26!!"

Reds midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain simply asked: "Why?"

And one said that the PFA Player of the Year looks like a "cute baby".

Over on Twitter, fans shared their reaction as one user said: "Mo Salah without a beard is like a turtle without a shell."

Another added: "Salah cut his beard. Looking like Mr. Bean."

A third said: "If anyone is looking for me I’ll be in bed crying over Salah’s beard."

A user identified as @adairfraser_ joked that salah shaving his beard may stop him going to ground in the box easily after being criticised for diving in recent weeks.

He said: "I see Mo Salah has shaved his beard....I take it that's to give him better balance when he's standing in the box in front of a defence?"

Salah scored his 17th Premier League goal of the season and Liverpools third in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield as the Reds returned to top of the league.
