Barcelona announce the signing of Brazil star Malcolm in a five year deal from Bordeaux

- Brazil star Malcolm has joined Barcelona on a five year deal worth €41m from Bordeaux

- He was said to have agreed terms with Italian League side AS Roma earlier this week

- The 21-year-old will join the his new teammates next week for their preseason tour in the United States

Spanish League champions Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazil midfielder Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira in a five year deal.

The Blaugrana beat Italian Seire A side AS Roma to the signing of the 21-year-old in a deal valued around £36.5 million with £900,000 in variables.

According to BBC, the Champions League semifinalists revealed earlier this week that they had reached an agreement with Bordeaux for the player but subject to a medical and personal terms.

However, he has made a u-turn to join the Catalan club in a shocking summer transfer move and will have his medical on Wednesday.

He is expected in Barcelona on Tuesday for proper unveiling to the fans while he takes photos by the club's badge outside at 8.00pm CEST.

The Brazilian will after having his medicals at the club join the 2018 FC Barcelona US Tour sponsored by Rakuten.

Though, he is yet to feature for the Brazilian national senior team, he has 20 superb goals to his credit, with another 13 assisted in 84 Ligue 1 games following his 2016 move from Corinthians.

He is Barca's second Brazilian summer signing - after £35.5m Gremio midfielder Arthur, 21.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona agreed to pay a sum of €41 million for Bordeaux striker Malcolm after hijacking Roma deal, Goal reports.

The talented Brazilian was set to fly to Italy to complete his move to the Giallorossi, only for the Catalan giants to step in and make a bid of their own Roma had confirmed on Monday that they had reached an agreement to bring the 21-year-old to the Stadio Olympico for a fee of €38m (£34m/$44m).

The player was expected to arrive in Rome on Tuesday to undergo a medical and complete the move but made a U-turn.
