Uche Secondus demands international inquest into nationwide insecurity

- The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus has called for an international in quest into the issue of insecurity in the country

- Secondus also alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is planning to rig the forthcoming Ekiti governorship polls

- He said that whether APC likes it or not, PDP will win the gubernatorial election in the state

Prince Uche Secondus, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday, July 2, demanded for an international in quest into the rampant killings throughout the nation in a bid to identify and arrest those responsible for the heartless crime.

The national PDP boss said that the move is necessitated by the slow response on the part of the government to the troubling issue as well as the attempt by some agencies to divert the attention of people from the problem, Nigeria Tribune reports.

Secondus said this when one of the presidential aspirants in the party, Alhaji Tanimu Turaki, visited him at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja. He called on the international community to show interest and help stop the senseless massacre in Nigeria.

Secondus claimed that going by intelligence information available to the party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) was planning to rig the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti. He therefore warned that the ploy will eventual aggravate tension and unrest in the state.

He said: “Thwart the will of Ekiti people and put unquenchable fire in the country. Let me warn the INEC Chairman Prof Yakubu and Amina Zakari the National Commissioner in charge of operations in the electoral commission to be careful with any agenda they have that is against the will of the people of Ekiti.”

‎He assured Turaki and other aspirants of the PDP in view of 2019 presidential election that the party has been modified and remodelled to salvage the country from the hands of the APC.

Referring to the APC-led regime, Secondus said: ”They are harassing, arresting and framing up people but they cannot arrest and kill everybody. We are ready for them‎

“Whether they like it or not, PDP will win Ekiti come July 14, because we are on the ground and have something to show, we will also go ahead to win Osun state in September and the general elections in February 2019.″‎

Turaki on his part, commended Secondus for fulfilling his campaign promises of leading the party in transparency and fairness.
