Gernot Rohr claims Super Eagles players are still growing

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria prepare to face Iceland in their second game at the Russia 2018 World Cup, many football fans and Nigerians want nothing else than a win on Friday, June 22.

Gernot Rohr according to the report by Sportinglife believes his players are still growing and added that the Super Eagles will get the experience to play at the World Cup in the next four years.

”My players are still growing and only Victor Moses and Mikel Obi are the experienced players in the team. That is why l have said that in four years time the experience to play at the World Cup will be there.

”On the Iceland game. We have told ourselves some home truths and the players have promised to play their hearts out on Friday,'' Rohr was quoted to have said by Sportinglife.

After losing their first game in Russia against Croatia, the Super Eagles will face Iceland this afternoon, June 22, and only a win will give them the chance to make the round of 16.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigeria kicked off their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign on a losing note following their 2-0 defeat to Croatia on Saturday, June 16.

An own goal from Oghenekaro Etebo and a penalty kick from Luka Modric handed the Croats their first win of the competition.

The result pushed the European giants to the top of the table with six points and five goals as they also beat Argentina in their second game while the Super Eagles are at the base with no point and minus two goals.
