Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo received a 'chant ovation' from his Changchun Yatai home fans despite their lost at home to Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League.
The Yatai fans paid no attention to their embarrassing two defeat scoreline but decided to celebrate their leading goal scorer for the season, Odion Ighalo as he was presented a replica World Cup trophy.
Which signifies good luck at the incoming FIFA World Cup at Russia
Legit.ng previously reported that Nigeria international Odion Ighalo says the Chinese Super League is tougher than what he was told prior to his move to China in 2017.
The 28-year-old made a switch from the English Premier League to join Changchun Yatai in a three-year deal worth € 23.3 million.
He explained that he was told the competition at the league was very low, adding that he would score in almost all the matches, but that is not the case, as he has only scored 16 goals in 30 topflight matches so far.
"Before I went there, people were saying the level of the Chinese League is very low and you are going to score a lot of goals," Ighalo said.
