Joseph Yobo tells Gernot Rohr to consider Martins for World Cup

Former Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Joseph Yobo has reportedly urged Gernot Rohr to consider Obafemi Martins for a return to the Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Recently, the Super Eagles of Nigeria played two friendly games against Poland and Serbia in which they lost one and won the other.
In these two games played by the Super Eagles which was part of their preparations for the 2018 World Cup, they only got a goal which was even a penalty against Poland scored by Victor Moses.
But on Saturday, March 31, Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins scored three goals in a match which helped his team Shanghai Shenhua beat Hebei 4-2.
Joseph Yobo who played with Martins in the Super Eagles before retiring believes the experience of the former Inter Milan striker will be useful in Russia.
“I am not imposing players on Rohr, but I think the likes of Obafemi Martins and Austin Ejide can help strengthen the defective areas. They are experienced players and they know the in and out of Nigeria football,” Yobo was quoted to have said by Vanguard.

Previously, Legit.ng had reported how Nigerian international Obafemi Martins on Saturday, March 31, continued with his rich vein of form this season in the Chinese Super League as he scored hat-trick against Hebei CFFC.
Obafemi Martins' goals helped his side Shanghai Shenhua to record their biggest win this season in the Super League as they hammered their visitors 4-2.
But it was the visitors that scored the first goal at the Hongkou Football Stadium when ex Barcelona man Javier Macherano provided a superb pass for Chin Zhang to score.
