Lionel Messi has thanked Antonio Conte after the Chelsea manager was full of praise for the Argentine's brilliant performance on the night.
Messi's scored a brace and Ousmane Dembele netted another to give Barcelona the deserved 3-0 victory at Nou Camp.
Despite the result, Italian boss Conte was seen hugging Messi as they both left the pitch, and Messi gave some words of encouragement to the Blues manager.
"I didn't hear him, but they told me what he said and I thank him for his words," Messi explained.
“I am happy for how this night has ended and for reaching the quarter-finals, which is what we wanted."
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored his 100th Champions League goal in style but remain 17 goals behind Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi was delighted which his latest achievement and he could hide his emotions.
“I’m happy to have reached 100 goals in such a beautiful competition,” he added.
“But the important thing was to move forward in a difficult match against a team with lots of really good players.
"I'm happy with how it all happened.
"This was a tough match and we were strong as a team.
"When we scored the third then the tie was practically ours."

Barcelona are currently unbeaten in La Liga and the Champions League, also have a Copa del Rey final to play as the Catalans are on the verge on winning a treble this season.
If Barca go all the way to win three titles this campaign, there is no doubt Messi will be crowned with his sixth Ballon d'Or award.
