Beautiful Nigerian lady has seen the need for personal hygiene to be taken to public schools where students have little or nothing to provide for themselves.

Focusing on the girl child, Bolaji Fashola Isimi decided to give out sanitary pads to students of Oke-Ira Junior Grammar School. Isimi disclosed that this act was carried out in order to encourage girls go to school.

She added that while conducting her research, she found out that there are some girls whose parents are not buoyant enough to afford sanitary pads make use of tissue papers, rags and lots more during their menstrual cycle.

Isimi disclosed that the uses of these things are not hygienic and could cause various health issues in future. She was supported by JAF foundation.

She said: “This will give girls confidence to attend class on any day of the month, consequently improving their academic performance by giving free sanitary pads to girls from poor families and promoting quality education for a girl child. These girls deserve to be aware of their body and its importance. Joy Anuoluwapo, CEO of JAF foundation would be sensitizing the underprivileged secondary school girls on their menstrual cycle, hygiene puberty education.”

Isimi’s mission is to keep girls in school, helping underprivileged girls in successfully completing their education and providing accurate health information and mentorship. This program was done on Friday, November 24.

She also plans on visiting 18 other schools in Lagos state and Ogun state.
