The counsel to the accused, Hussein Musa, asked the court to let the defendant be in the police custody, arguing that she is still a nursing mother.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the police filed murder charges against Maryam Sanda, who allegedly stabbed her husband, Bilyamin Bello, to death

The deceased was the son of a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello.

The development was made public by Anjuguri Manzah, the Federal Capital Territory police spokesman, in a statement released on Wednesday, November 22.

Legit.ng gathered that Manzah disclosed that pending the completion of investigations, a remand order against Maryam for two weeks was secured by the command, from the FCT High Court.

According to the police spokesman, the command took that particular action because it was difficult to have the suspect remanded in prison custody because she was nursing a six-month-old baby.

Bilyamin Bello was allegedly stabbed by his wife after she accused him of infidelity.

She was said to have taken him to a hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
