President Buhari to address UN General Assembly, meet US president

- President Muhammdu Buhari is expected to leave Nigeria for United States of America on Tuesday, September 19

- According to reports, Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria’s foreign minister and members of a presidential advance team are already in USA

President Muhammdu Buhari will leave Nigeria for United States of America on Tuesday, 19 September, to address United Nation General Assembly.

According to Sahara Reporters, a source at the Nigeria House in New York said that Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria’s foreign minister and members of a presidential advance team are already in New York to receive President Buhari.

Legit.ng gathered that the meeting with Trump was initially scheduled to hold two weeks ago but had to be shifted because the president is still convalescing and could not travel at the time.

It was learnt that President Buhari and the Nigerian delegation will be accommodated at One Millennium Plaza Hotel on First Avenue in Manhattan during his five-day stay in New York.

Presidency source also disclosed that the list of members of the delegation is expected to be approved on Thursday, September 14 by Abba Kyari chief of staff to the president before the publication of the programme by the state house press.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Onyeama said President Buhari will lead the Nigerian delegation to the 72nd UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
