Trouble for PDP as strong chieftain dumps party (photos)

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s move to rebuild the party ahead of the 2019 general elections suffered a setback as one of its chieftains; Matthew Aigbuhuenze Iduoriyekemwen, dumped the party.
A Facebook user, Jack Obinyan-Buhari, shared a copy of the resignation letter tendered by the PDP chieftain from Edo state.

Iduoriyekemwen has been a staunch members of the opposition party since inception before he decided to leave.

In the letter submitted on Monday, August 14, Iduoriyekemwen said the decision was not an easy one to take but that he did for the sake of his political career.
He applauded the PDP for all the opportunities provided and wished the party well.
Meanwhile, Former President Goodluck Jonathan reportedly said with the PDP in power in 2019, Nigerians should not think of hunger.
Jonathan said this as he spoke at PDP national convention in Abuja on Saturday, August 12, 2017 adding that even God loves the party.
The former president who lost to Muhammadu Buhari said it was not blasphemy to state that God actually loves the party just as he pleaded with Nigerians to support it ahead of 2019.
