Maigari, NFF Officials Locked In Crucial Meeting After FIFA Lifts Ban

A crucial meeting of the ‘board’ of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is currently on at the federation’s secretariat in Abuja.

The embattled NFF chairman is currently locked with members of the ‘board’ of the Nigeria's football authority.

The meeting is being held in the federation’s secretariat in Abuja and journalists are concerned with the unusual number of security officials, ranging from police to Department of State Security, DSS, officials at the scene.

There has yet to be an official confirmation letter from FIFA that the suspension has been dropped, as Maigari has returned after the court case was dropped by the wife of Rumson Baribote, owner of Nembe City Football Club.

As courts in Nigeria are still closed due to workers strike, there is still no official confirmation that the case has been dropped.

NFF officials are poised to brief reporters soon as they wrap up the meeting.

The Maigari issue started when heavy armed men came to the NFF glass house and whisked the chairman off after the court ordered them to.

Maigari and some of his board members where called to court by the case brought by the wife of Rumson Baribote, owner of Nembe City Football Club.

Immediately this new got out, FIFA who strongly dislikes anyone meddling in its member countries football related issues, Banned the country.

And in a bid to get back in the good light of FIFA, Sports Minister Danagogo pleaded with Mrs Baribote to drop the case.
