The result leaves United in 14th place with a negative goal difference, similar to how they ended the last season, in which Amorim managed half of it.
Fans have called for Amorim's sack 10 months into the job as results have not improved despite the manager sticking to this philosophy and 3-4-3 formation.

Premier League table since Amorim took over
Opta Analyst’s X page released the Premier League table since Ruben Amorim took over at Manchester United, and it further fuelled fury from the fans.
The table takes into account teams that were in the league on matchday 12 of the 2024/25 season when he arrived, excluding relegated and newly-promoted teams.
The Red Devils are the worst of the 17 ever-present teams with 31 points from 31 matches, tied with Tottenham Hotspur, who beat them in the Europa League final.
United have a minus 13 goal difference, which is better than West, who have minus 17. Arsenal and Liverpool have double the points of United and have a better goal difference than United have points.
As noted by Sky Sports, Amorim has won eight matches; only four have come against those 17 ever-present teams, the remaining four have been against relegated or newly-promoted teams.
According to Opta Analyst's supercomputer, the Red Devils have a higher chance of getting relegated than of finishing in the top five this season after the derby loss.
Ruben Amorim's message to the fans
Amorim, speaking during his post-match conference, had a message for the fans when he was asked about the record of eight wins in 31 matches.

“Guys, I understand that, and I accept that it is not a record you should have in Manchester United. There are a lot of things you have no idea what happened during these months, but I accept that,” he said.
"My message is that I am going to give everything. I will do everything, always thinking about what is best for the club. That was always the same message.
“I will do my best. I really want to win games. I am suffering more than them.”
United's next match is against Chelsea, a game of high significance as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag were sacked before playing the Blues, and fans believe it could be Amorim's turn.
