On the other hand, Chelsea, fresh from their Club World Cup win, have been rated as underdogs for the league title.
Opta’s supercomputer has predicted the entire season thousands of times and has released the results ahead of the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
The result? A bold projection of where every club will finish in the 2025/26 Premier League table, from title glory to relegation heartbreak.
Liverpool tipped to defend EPL title
According to Opta’s supercomputer, Liverpool are favourites to win the Premier League title for a second consecutive season.
After being the biggest spenders in the summer transfer window, Arne Slot’s side are tipped to edge Arsenal to the title, though the margin is predicted to be far tighter than last season’s comfortable gap, per Sky Sports.
Arsenal, bolstered by high-profile signings, are once again set to finish runners-up.
Manchester City, who underwent a significant squad rebuild in the off-season, are projected to take third place, while Chelsea claim the final Champions League qualification spot in fourth.
The top six is completed by Newcastle in fifth and Aston Villa in sixth.
Manchester United tipped to struggle
While Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, and Chelsea look set to battle for the top, Opta’s predictions are less optimistic for Manchester United and Tottenham.

The Red Devils, still rebuilding under Reuben Amorim, are projected to finish in 12th, only three places higher than last season’s disappointing campaign.
Spurs, meanwhile, are tipped to finish in 14th place, signalling another frustrating year for the North London side coached by Thomas Frank.
Fresh from lifting the FA Cup and Community Shield, Crystal Palace are predicted to finish seventh, securing a European spot.
Brighton, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest round out the predicted top 10.
Who is in the relegation battle?
For the third season in a row, all three promoted sides are tipped to go straight back down by Opta’s supercomputer.
Burnley are predicted to finish 18th, Leeds United 19th, and Sunderland 20th, each falling well short of the points needed for survival.
Wolves are forecast to finish 17th, comfortably clear of the drop zone but still far from mid-table security.
The data suggests that the gap in quality and squad depth between the Championship and the Premier League remains as wide as ever.
