Despite Liverpool’s earlier reluctance to let go of their attacker, Bayern’s persistence appears to have paid off.
According to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern will pay €75 million for the 27-year-old, who is now expected to undergo a medical and sign a four-year deal with the Bundesliga champions.

The Reds seem prepared to reinvest his transfer fee into key targets this summer.
Liverpool plot record-breaking move for Isak
With fresh funds from Diaz’s exit, Liverpool have reportedly received the green light to move forward with a bold €120 million bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

The Swedish international has been a standout performer in the Premier League and is seen as the long-term solution to Liverpool’s No. 9 position.
Isak scored 21 league goals last season for Newcastle, showcasing a blend of pace, power, and clinical finishing that has made him one of Europe’s most coveted forwards.
Reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Liverpool have already laid the groundwork behind the scenes and that Newcastle may be open to negotiations due to financial fair play constraints.
Should the deal go through, it would become the most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history, eclipsing the €117.5m fee paid for Florian Wirtz this summer.
Rodrygo also on Liverpool’s radar
In addition to targeting Isak, Liverpool are reportedly in discussions with Real Madrid over Brazilian forward Rodrygo.
With Diaz’s departure imminent, Liverpool are eager to secure a like-for-like winger to maintain balance in their attacking setup.
Rodrygo, who has played both centrally and on the flanks for Madrid, fits the profile Liverpool are seeking.
Although Real Madrid are reluctant to lose the 23-year-old, the emergence of Endrick and Kylian Mbappe’s anticipated arrival could push Rodrygo down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, opening a door for Liverpool.
With these high-profile moves on the table, Liverpool’s summer transfer strategy is shifting rapidly.
The Anfield giants appear determined to rebuild their squad to challenge once again for both domestic and European honours.
