Man United Legends Backs Mane's Snub on Klopp After Liverpool's Win At Old Trafford

Roy Keane gave his blunt opinion about Sadio Mane snubbing Jurgen Klopp's handshake shortly after Liverpool's historic win over Man United at Old Trafford, Give Me Sport.

The Senegalese striker was kept on the bench for Diogo Jota who scored the Reds equalizer and was denied a few scoring chances by Dean Henderson and the goal post.

Mane came in the 74th minute for the Portuguese striker but the 28-year-old showed his displeasure by ignoring his manager's handshake after the final whistle.

Klopp was quick to play down any issue and insisted that there was nothing wrong with the gesture from Mane.

"No, no problem.
“Yesterday I made a late decision in training to decide for Diogo. The boys are used to me explaining things usually but there was actually no time for that and that's all. It's all fine."

However former United captain is of the opinion of exchanging pleasantries with opponents even with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

And the Irishman was in support of Mane's behaviour claiming it was normal for a player of his status in the Liverpool team to feel that way.

"The player is out of order, but there's a new trend among managers - going on the pitch, giving everyone high fives. When I was a player, I didn't want the manager giving me high fives.

"If we'd won the league, maybe, but even then I'd be doubtful. If he sees the player's upset, just back away. It's bad enough your manager, but the opposition manager going round and giving everyone high fives."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Liverpool recorded their first win at Old Trafford in seven years following a 4-2 thrashing of Man United in an entertaining Premier League fixture.

Despite going behind earlier on in the match the Reds came back to pull off a stunning win over their fiercest rivals in the English topflight division.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side got on the scoresheet after a Bruno Fernandes' shot was deflected into the by Nathaniel Phillips but it counted for the Portuguese midfielder. 1-0 it was.
