Former Manchester United star Paul Parker has slammed current gaffer Ole Solskjaer accusing the Norwegian of damaging the confidence of his players this term at Old Trafford.

This comes following how Ole Solskjaer played down Manchester United chances of winning the Premier League title this season after their home draw against Everton.

On a serious note, Manchester United players wanted to win the tie against Everton, but Carlo Ancelotti's men were determined not to lose against their rivals.

After the encounter, Ole Solskjaer explained that Manchester United are not in the Premier League title race despite sitting second on the table and are five points behind Manchester City.

According to the report on Mirror, Paul Parker who won two Premier League titles with Manchester United in the 90s explained that Solskjaer could kill the confidence of his players.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying that Manchester United were not in the title race was a silly comment to make.
"You have got to keep players as positive as you can and tell them they can win the Premier League.
"Some of those players with their egos will be thinking that they will win things at Manchester United, if a manager does not believe it is the case, how is a player ever going to?
"Instead of taking the pressure off people, he is adding it.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United will be facing West Brom in their next Premier League game on Sunday, February 14.

The incident occurred last November as Cavani stamped on Richarlison's ankle in the 71st minute in the defeat to the Samba Boys.

Cavani got a straight card red card after the incident and the 33-year-old will not be available for March's CONMEBOL's qualifier against Argentina and Bolivia.

In a post-match interview after the game, Richarlison who scored one of the goals in the 2-0 said the tackle could have caused serious damage but holds no grudge against Cavani.
