Georginio Wijnaldum has handed Barcelona a huge transfer boost as the midfielder is reportedly planning to reject a new Liverpool deal ahead of his move to Spain this year.

The Dutchman will run out of contract with the Premier League defending champions at the end of this season and all effort to persuade him to extend his reign at Anfield look impossible.

As it stands now, the 30-year-old has the liberty to negotiate with any club interested in his services when he leaves Anfield this summer.

SunSport quoting Daily Mirror reports the former Newcastle United player appears to have finished his assignment with the Merseyside outfit and will end his five-year reign at the club in favour of the move to Camp Nou.

Wijnaldum has been a key member in Jurgen Klopp's midfield but has failed to agree to new terms on with the EPL defending champions.

And that could mean he will join Dutch boss Ronald Koeman at Barcelona - if he's still in a job. A source told the Mirror:

“Barcelona has always been a big draw for him. It's a similar situation to when Gareth Bale left Tottenham for Real Madrid in that it is his ultimate destination.”

The Dutch midfielder is out of contract with the Premier League champions next summer and might not be interested in signing a new deal.

However, he has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou since the arrival of Ronald Koeman a few months back.
