NBA: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili And Tony Parker Lead San Antonio Spurs To Victory

The San Antonio Spurs claimed first blood in their Western Conference play-off against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Spurs, the No 2 seeds in the Conference, racked up a 91-79 victory in Game One of the first-round clash.

San Antonio never looked back after taking the lead in the first quarter, with Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker leading the way with 18 points apiece.

Tim Duncan also weighed in with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs.

The Lakers, who clinched their play-off spot after the last round of the regular season, hit back through double-doubles from Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol but it wasn't enough.

Howard topped the scoring with 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Gasol added 16 points and 16 rebounds.

The Lakers will now look to hit back when Game Two of the series takes place on Wednesday.
