Football legend loses beloved father to coronavirus same day Ronaldinho’s mom died

Argentine star Carlos Tevez lost his beloved father to coronavirus complications that the striker had to withdraw himself from Boca Juniors' game against Newell's Old Boys for Sunday, February 21.

SunSport are reporting that the former Man United and Man City striker has returned to the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires to mourn his late dad who had battled with his health for some time.

It was gathered that the player’s dad Segundo Raimundo Tevez had survived coronavirus last year, but it reportedly led to further health complications.

Reports claim medical officials had told the family members that his chances of survival are very slim.

Boca confirmed the sad news as they tweeted:

"Boca Juniors mourns the death of Don Segundo, Carlos' father, and are thinking of the Tevez family and their friends at this time of so much pain and sadness. Stay strong!"

Further reports reveal that he had undergone surgery on his neck last year before he was later diagnosed with the dreaded coronavirus.

Last month, Tevez tragically revealed he had to tell his children their grandad would not recover.

He told reporters:

"Unfortunately, my old man has no chance.
"It is a very difficult time for my whole family. I think I have won 29 titles in my career. This is very difficult for me."

Also, Barcelona and Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho lost his mother two months after the 71-year-old was tested positive for coronavirus.
