"Like I always say, I don’t like to talk about our opponents. All that I can say is I want to get the maximum points we can," the forward told Liverpool's official website as cited by Mirror.

"They are better this year and that’s what I can say about United. The rest, we will see on the pitch," he added.

He further took the chance to send his teammates a rallying call to step up their game ahead of the meeting.

The Merseyside outfit pride themselves with an outstanding record at Anfield ahead of the clash.

The Jürgen Klopp-tutored outfit are yet to suffer defeat at home in the league since 2017.

However, the Reds are fully aware only a win can restore their hopes of retaining the domestic crown.

They head into the clash on the back of poor form as they are winless in three of their most recent fixtures.
