Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed in Freetown ahead of their 2022 African Cup of Nations second leg qualifier against Sierra Leone on Tuesday night, November 17.

Gernot Rohr and his men arrived Sierra Leone on Monday afternoon, November 16, with all the players in good mood ahead of the much anticipated clash.

The Stars were brilliant in their first game against Super Eagles in Benin, Edo state as they came back from 4-1 down to play 4-4 against the three-time African champions.

Players of the Super Eagles and their coach Rohr were blasted after the game by Nigerians who were disappointed with the result they got in Benin.

Captain of the Super Eagles Ahmed Musa and forward Alex Iwobi tendered apology to Nigerians after the 4-4 draw against Stars and promised to do well in the return leg.

A win for the Super Eagles in Freetown will send them to the finals of 2022 African Cup of Nations.

During the last AFCON championship in Egypt, Nigeria won bronze medal at the Championship after losing the semifinal clash against Algeria who went on to win the title.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr was hit with another blow ahead of Nigeria's clash with Sierra Leone as super striker Emmanuel Dennis has been ruled out of the encounter.

Nigeria who are three-time African champions will be facing Sierra Leone on Tuesday night, November 17, in AFCON 2022 encounter which is expected to be tough.

According to the latest report by Brila FM, the 23-year-old striker who is currently playing for Club Brugge sustained injury while training with the Super Eagles in Benin, Edo state.

After they were forced to a draw last Friday by Sierra Leone in Benin, Super Eagles trained on Saturday evening and Sunday before leaving Nigeria for Sierra Leone on Monday, November 16.

Gernot Rohr will also be without Napoli striker Victor Osimhen who got injured during the 4-4 draw in Benin and will have to return to his club in Italy.

The German tactician is now left with Paul Onuachu, Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho to select for the Tuesday's encounter in Freetown.
