Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna, has been warned against making divisive comments in the country and fueling the embers of violence.

According to The Nation, the religious leader gave the warning while reacting to the latest comment by El-Rufai that the country may collapse if the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the next general elections. He added that El-Rufai must learn to speak about peace.

Maharaj Ji explained that the former Kaduna governor was pushing political and religious division. He described El-Rufai as "a robot of the Anglo-Arab theological group", who tried to use religion to bring down the black people. He explained that "in Africa, we have our own natural laws and principles.”

He then challenged the former governor to publicly swear that he had not stolen any money when he was in power. He challenged El-Rufai to go on live TV and swear with a glass of water. "If he’s clean, let’s see what happens in four weeks.”

El-Rufai and the coalition movement

El-Rufai has been at the forefront of the coalition campaigns against President Tinubu. The movement has been joined by other opposition leaders, including Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate and Rotimi Amaechi, who lost the APC presidential ticket to Tinubu during the party's primary.

Like Atiku, Amaechi, and Obi have declared interest in contesting the 2027 presidential election against President Tinubu. Amaechi and Obi have vowed to rule for one term to allay the fear of northerners, but El-Rufai recently said no one believes such a promise.

Recently, former President Goodluck Jonathan has been dragged into the race following the zoning of the PDP presidential ticket to the south. The PDP has said it was considering the chance of fielding Jonathan in 2027 or bringing back Obi to run on the ticket.

Oshiomhole gives subtle advice to Jonathan

Legit.ng earlier reported that Senator Adams Oshiomhole has covertly told former President Goodluck Jonathan not to join the 2027 presidential race.

The former APC national chairman made the call on the former president while speaking at the 70th birthday celebration of Chief Mike Aiyegbeni Oghiadomhe in Benin.

This came as several PDP bigwigs are calling on ex-President Jonathan to join the race, considering the fact that he will be doing only one term.
