The former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Sunday, August 31, revealed that his successor, Senator Uba Sani, is not his friend.

Uba Sani was my mentee - El-Rufai
El-Rufai, who was instrumental to Sani’s emergence as Kaduna state governor in 2023, however, dispelled rumours of a rift between him and his successor, the current governor of the state.
Recall there were reports that the duo were at loggerheads following El-Rufai’s criticisms of the federal government’s policies and the Kaduna state government.
But speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, El-Rufai said both men were never friends.

El-Rufai, the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said:
“I’ve not fallen out with the governor. No, he is not my friend. He was my boy, my mentee. We have not fallen out. I still don’t speak with him,” he stated.
“My biggest pride in life is that I have encouraged and elevated many people to greatness, some even greater than me, and I am very proud of it.
“But when a person derails, when he doesn’t do the right thing, because I contributed to getting him there, I am prohibited from commenting? Is that what the country has become?”
During the interview, he accused the governor of being behind the attack at the Kaduna African Democratic Congress (ADC) committee inauguration in Kaduna last Saturday and other opposition politicians in the state.
El-Rufai said:
“I will submit evidence to the IGP and other authorities if they care to investigate.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Nasir El-Rufai revealed that he is unperturbed by critics who describe him as a fundamentalist.
The former governor maintained that those who hold them neither know him personally nor have worked with him.

Tinubu will come 3rd in 2027 election - El-Rufai
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Nasir El-Rufai cast doubt on President Bola Tinubu’s chances in the upcoming 2027 presidential election, asserting that the incumbent leader would, at best, finish third.
In an interview on Sunday, El-Rufai suggested that the election might not be decided in the first round, and predicted that Tinubu would not make it to the runoff.
ADC supporters welcome El-Rufai to Kaduna
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that on Wednesday, August 13, ADC supporters stormed the streets to warmly receive Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
A viral video showed a mammoth crowd gathered in Rido, Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna, welcoming El-Rufai during a rally for the House of Representatives candidate, Alex Adanu.
