"I'm Pained Sha": Nigerian Woman Makes Unexpected Discovery Years after Being Told She's 'AS'
- A Nigerian woman was pained after recently finding out something unexpected about her genotype
- Before then, she believed she was 'AS' because tests she conducted at a government hospital years ago showed that result.
- However, her lastborn recently prompted her to do another blood test to confirm her genotype, and she found out she is not 'AS'
Salam Khadijat Yetunde, a Nigerian woman who had thought she was 'AS', was pained after recently finding out her genotype is quite different.
According to her, she had a blood group and genotype test in 2014 with her fiancé, who wanted to propose to her at the time, and the result showed they were both 'AA.'

"Please always check your genotype like two to three times especially in osogbo. I can only boast of few laboratories in osogbo with accurate machine and result.
"Secondly, when going for test don't rush the attendant. Let him or her give you time to come back or ask you to seat down."
Robinson Dave said:
"Coming from a bloodbank specialist, unless you had a blood transfusion or a bone marrow transplant, this is definitely a laboratory error. Another scenario is very rare Chimerism. A rare case of hematopoietic chimerism resulting in mixed cell populations. Imagine if you need a transfusion and the wrong unit was given due to laboratory error. I'll sue both the lab and the hospital."

"Sometimes, life takes us on unexpected paths based on certain variables; one of which is the issue of this Genotype. This is not to water down this particular scenario, but imagine that was a DNA result gotten wrong?🤔. One of many reasons to always fact-check, and double-check everything."
