A Nigerian lady, Eniola Adeniji, said her father’s family were angry with her because she didn’t use their surname on her late mother’s obituary and burial printings.
She stated that she used her mother’s maiden name on the death certificate and other documents.

On her Facebook page, she clarified that her parents had been separated for over 30 years and she had been taking care of her mother for 21 years.
Eniola said in her post:
“A little humour in the midst of my grief: My Father’s family dragging my asss because all burial printings have my Mum’s maiden name as her surname. They’ve been separated for over 3 decades even before his death, but somehow I’m supposed to put his name as her surname, on her death certificate and burial printings.

“It’s obvious they didn’t get the memo, that the woman that they cut off her legs indeed gave birth to a daughter with wings.
“And what’s more annoying for them, ain’t nobody able to bully me about not giving us anything for her burial. I cared for her while alive for 15 years and almost 6 years of her sickness (That’s 21 years), I’m perfectly able to give her a befitting burial.”

Lady's stepmother rejects her brother's burial
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a Nigerian lady narrated the emotional drama during her brother’s burial in her father’s compound.
She shared how she was told to leave the corpse outside, as the stepmother rejected the burial on the property.
In a viral TikTok video, she blamed her late mother for marrying into a polygamous family full of conflict.
