A Nigerian man has shared his frightening encounter with a dangerous snake inside his newly rented apartment.

The man, identified as Chude, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night, March 31, 2026, to narrate the scary incident that left him shaken.

Man sees snake in new apartment

According to him, he was about to go to bed when he suddenly heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. He quickly went to check, only to see a big black snake going into hiding as he came close.

He said he had been suspicious ever since he had moved into the new house, and sighting the snake had proved his instincts.

He said in the X post:

"I just saw a snake in my house. I was about to sleep when I heard a noise from the kitchen. I quickly went to check what it was, only to find a big black snake rushing into hiding as I approached.
I feel so terrified. This has been my worry since I moved into this new apartment and now my instincts have been proven right. My greatest fear has been confirmed.
Chai! O ka’m si je!"

In a follow-up video, the man, while driving at night, showed his panic. He said that he had to run away and leave the snake still in the apartment.

The post has already gathered over 78,000 views, hundreds of likes and reposts, and more than 260 replies within hours.
