Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, had announced online that she would be attempting to make history for the largest pot of jollof rice ever cooked.

The event was set for September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos state.

Popular food brand Gino, which is partnering with Hilda Baci for the event, showed the cartons of spices and ingredients that would be used for the cook-off.

In a post by @ginonaija on TikTok, a van filled with the ingredients was being offloaded at the venue.

The video was captioned:

“Gino pulled up with the products for Hilda’s kitchen takeover tomorrow, including our Gino peppered chicken seasoning cubes and tomato paste, Gino asun flavored seasoning cubes and tomato paste,Gino party jollof tomato paste, Gino curry and thyme seasonings.

Hilda Baci prepares for jollof rice festival

Hilda Baci earlier announced that the event, which was earlier scheduled to be held at Muri Okunola Park, would now be held at Eko Hotel and Suites.

She opened up on how many people registered for the event and the reason for the venue change.
