On his way back, Reverend Father Oluoma Chinyere John said it was not planned, but he was happy to join the young people to have fun.
He said:
"It wasn't planned, just pure happenstance or Providence. I was on my way to give a disabled parishioner communion after mass today. These gentlemen almost blocked the narrow village road with their table set for Sunday beer fellowship. The speed with which they scrambled to clear the road for me touched my heart and I thought they were gentlemanly and not unruly. I wound down and greeted as I drove past. They still weren't aware of who I was."
The priest said he was happy the way the young people showed him respect, even without knowing who he was.
His words:
"On my way back from visiting the sick man, I stopped at their spot. I got down and greeted them as I introduced myself as Rev Fr Oluoma Chinenye John. Immediately they chorused "Rev Fr!" and then started saying " Our Sunday is blessed today".
Father Oluoma advises against too much alcohol
The priest went ahead to request a bottle of Stout, but he didn't say if he drank it.
He said:
"We exchanged some more pleasantries and I asked them to serve me one bottle too, I got a chilled and sweating bottle of stout that looked like it was pleading with me to spare it not. I now asked if they had gone to church today? All of the said; 'Fr, make I no lie I no go'. I now did a small preaching to them to always go to their churches first before hanging out later, I insisted that Sunday is a day of worship for Christians and they got to keep to it."

Father Oluoma said he was glad to share a brief word of God with the young men and to admonish them to drink alcohol in moderation.
He said:
"Second message I gave them was to moderate their intake of alcohol. I told them medically alcohol is a poison and I hope they will move from moderation to quitting. I didn't threaten them with hell fire as a consequence for drunkenness, they already look like people used to hot situations, I leave that part for their respective church ministers. After all was said, I prayed and blessed them, then took a sip from one of their glasses and left. I'm believing that the Holy Spirit will continue or complete what a feeble man has started."

Reactions as priest preaches to people drinking
Oghenero Agadagba said:
"Only this morning in my quiet time I was studying one of Paul’s letter, when He said I become become all things to all people that by all means I shall save some…. Seeing this post made the letter makes more sense to me."
Wisdom Chibueze Mgbebuihe said:
"I like how you focused on moderation and responsibility instead of condemnation. Many people leave the church because they feel judged rather than guided with wisdom and love. We are called to the ministry of reconciliation, not condemnation (2 Corinthians 5:19-21)."
