After 19 Years, Man Discovered He is Not Related To His Biological Father Following DNA Test

A Nigerian man is emotionally devastated after he discovered that the man he regarded as his father was not his biological father.
The man shared the story on social media, lamenting that the truth came to light following a DNA test.

In a post he shared on X, the man said he made the shocking discovery when he was 19 years old.
According to the man identified as Nizzy Cool, his mother had died when he was 13.
He said:
"After 19 years, my dad realised I wasn't his son after conducting a DNA test because of my stubborn behaviour and my mom died when I was 13. Omor till now I never fit move on from the trauma. 19 years of spending my whole life thinking my dad was my dad. Jesus Christ!!"

He said that before his mother died, she had told him that the man he was calling father was not related to him.
He explained that the man never wanted the DNA test, but relatives insisted, and it later happened.
His words:
"He never wanted the DNA test. But ex-dad siblings paid for it and forced with some police men to the hospital. I also never wanted the DNA test because I felt something fishy. Mind you she told me my dad wasn't my dad years ago. That I should go and look for my dad."
He said his 'father' and mother were never married, noting that what happened between them was a one-night stand.
He said:
"Na unwanted pregnancy o. Baba no pay for nothing. Na one night stand based on the story wey them tell me. After giving birth to me they were never together again."

High rate of paternity fraud in Nigeria
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Smart DNA’s 2024 report indicates that 27% of paternity tests conducted from July 2023 to June 2024 came back negative.
According to the report released on Sunday, September 1, this suggests that over one in four men tested are not the biological fathers of the children in question.
