Lady Who Worked as Cleaner in 2021 to Fund her Education Bags First-Class from UNILORIN

  • A Nigerian lady, Lasisi Romoke Adunbarin, who struggled to further her education years ago, has bagged a first-class from UNILORIN
  • The UNILORIN graduate listed her other achievements aside from the first-class honours she got in mathematics
  • Many who read that she once worked as a cleaner in 2021 said hers is a perfect example of what determination could achieve

A hardworking Nigerian lady, Lasisi Romoke Adunbarin, who worked as a cleaner in 2021 to further her education, has succeeded.

Even though Adundarin wanted to study computer engineering, she later went for mathematics and graduated with a first-class degree from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

The UNILORIN graduate also said she volunteered as a tutor for data Analysis with Python in her department.

Adunbarin was also a data science tutor at the Computer Science Academy Africa (CSA) Workshop, University of Nairobi. The graduate's trip to Kenya was fully funded.

In 2021, the mathematician worked as a sales representative and a teacher before she worked as a cleaner.

Working as a cleaner

Aside from working for someone as a cleaner, Adunbarin also offered sanitation services. In a conversation with Legit.ng in 2021, she said:

"When I'm called for weekend cleaning service, here is what I do; I wash plates, pots, clean the gas cookers, mob the floor, wash the tiles on the kitchen wall, then I moved to palour ; sweep, dust and mop. Rooms I sweep, fold clothes and mop after then I wash the toilet and bathroom and sometimes I wash clothes too. After all this I'll be paid either 2k or N2500. The day I clean new apartment I was paid 10 thousand naira."

The lady came from a challenging past to blaze the trail. No wonder her post on X celebrating her win gathered over 900 comments with more than 2,000 reposts as at the time of writing this report.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a biochemistry graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), Isioma Sybil, celebrated her successful graduation from the school.

The pretty lady bagged a first-class and emerged as the overall best student in the school.
