Homeless Nigerian Woman who Returned from UK after 25 Years Receives Big Help

Help is set to come the way of the homeless United Kingdom returnee who has been sleeping on a street in Lagos as a prominent human rights activist and entrepreneur, Harrison Gwamnishu, has shown interest in her case.

Florence Owanogo returned to Nigeria after 25 years in the UK. Earlier reports by some media claimed her house was sold by her tenant but Legit.ng found this to be totally false.

Her predicament was brought to light after it was shared on social media, sparking pity for her and outrage towards the unidentified tenant.

Plans of accommodation underway

In a recent post on Instagram page, Harrison revealed his team has visited the woman on a fact-finding mission.

He added that there were plans underway to provide accommodation for Florence as well as provide for her upkeep before any legal action would be taken on the matter.

He wrote:

"You called and we responded by visiting the woman who's currently homeless. Our Lagos State Director Samuel Chibuike Okonkwo was wirh her this evening for fact findings.
"...We plan getting her an accommodation and provide support for her upkeep before we take up any legal action."

Harrison expressed readiness to collaborate with other interested organizations on the matter as he appealed for support from well-meaning individuals to cover the woman's accommodation need.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a homeless woman was gifted N8.3 million by a total stranger.

Charlie who shared the touching video on Instagram said they raised the funds to enable them to touch lives.

He said:

"Money we raised from our fund that we launched yesterday… RebuildTheDreamFund.com."

When the elderly woman was asked what her biggest dream was, she simply said:

"A place to live. I just want a place where I can go and don't have to worry about moving again."
