"I call on His Excellency, Professor Charles Soludo, Oluatuegwu 1 of Anambra, to call on his Commissioner for Works, Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and other relevant agencies to quickly act to determine the cause of the flooding and timely avert future occurrences," he said.

He added: "The Nkpor community has full confidence in the proactive nature of our Governor and is certain that he would do that which is right."

Call for lasting flood-control measures

Beyond immediate relief, Chief Okeke pressed for a thorough assessment of the affected areas to identify the root causes of the flooding. He called on relevant agencies to design and put in place permanent drainage and flood-control solutions capable of protecting residents and their property from future incidents.

The Eze Designate warned that the absence of a swift response risked not only the loss of more property but also potential loss of lives if the erosion threat continues to grow unchecked.
