He described the move as part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to restoring the glory of education in the state.

Kano urges teachers to serve with dedication
During the induction ceremony held in Kano on Thursday, September 18, Governor Yusuf reiterated that the newly employed teachers and ex-interns are now permanent civil servants and pensionable, Daily Trust reported.
"That is more than a ceremony, but a witness to our sincere conviction that education is the pillar and a prerequisite to the advancement of our people. We desire you to inspire with passion, serve with integrity, and dedicate yourselves to developing the character of our children," Yusuf concluded.
Kano government approves more teachers' recruitment
Governor Yusuf also disclosed that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) received approval to recruit an extra 2,616 quality teachers.
The job is to build a strong education system and get the desired teacher-pupil ratio in schools.
The governor mentioned a number of reforms already in progress, such as constructing new schools, renovating the old ones, and purchasing learning materials in all 44 local government councils.

He also noted the appointment of thousands of teachers to an all-time high in Kano state's history.
Kano recruits indigenes for security jobs
Also, the Kano state government on Friday, October 18, said it had concluded plans to recruit 17,600 security guards and local hunters, Vanguard reported.
Legit.ng gathered that the move is to ensure maximum security for public schools across the state's 44 local government areas (LGAs).
Abdullahi Ibrahim, the senior special assistant (SSA) on digital media to Governor Abba Yusuf, shared the update on Friday, October 18, via his verified X (formerly Twitter handle.
Umar Doguwa, the commissioner for education, also shared more updates when he received the executive members of Rumfa Old Boys Association, Class ’94, who visited him.
Akwa Ibom begins recruitment into civil service
Previously, Legit.ng reported that the Akwa Ibom government, on Monday, July 28, announced the start of the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into the state civil service.
Legit.ng reports that this information was disclosed in an official statement by Frank Ekpenyong, the commissioner for science and digital economy. Authorities said the 'Arise Youth Employment' portal is scheduled to go live on or before Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Ekpenyong's statement noted that Umo Eno, governor of Akwa Ibom, endorsed the recruitment exercise into the state's mainstream civil service. Akwa Ibom is a state in Nigeria's south-south geo-political zone controlled by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
