Death, Injuries as Jehovah's Witness Members Travelling from Anambra to Imo Experience Accident

No less than 12 people have been confirmed dead in a road accident in the southeastern state of Nigeria, Imo. The incident reportedly happened around 9 pm on Sunday, September 7, along the Owerri-Onitsha Road expressway.

Henry Okoye, the police spokesperson in the state, made the incident known in a statement on Tuesday, September 9. According to Okoye, the accident happened when a gas tanker was seen driving against the traffic and hit a commercial bus carrying members of the Jehovah's Witness from Anambra to Agwu village in Imo.

According to Premium Times, the victims included eight males and four children, while the police regretted the incident. The police then disclosed that the deceased had been deposited at the Ogbaku Mortuary. He explained that the injured ones are responding to treatments at the Divine Hospital Awo-Omamma.”

Similarly, a Nigerian man, Abner Aliu, shared how he and his friends survived a road accident where the car somersaulted. He described their survival as a miracle, sharing pictures of the car after the accident.

On his Facebook page, he narrated how he and two of his friends were driving at midnight to get something.

He said in his post:

“So last Friday, myself and 2 other persons after a wedding traditional function around 12-1 am we needed to get something from SJ deluxe and on our way back this happened and to the Glory of God, we only had scratches, being the person seated next to the driver at the front roll, that pillar could have either compress me or hit my head, but I just want to thank God for everyone of us inside the car, it’s indeed a miracle.”

El-Rufai addresses supporters in Imo

Legit.ng earlier reported that former governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-Rufai stated that he had no preferred presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
