Apply Now: Recruitment Portal Goes Live as NAF Invites Nigerians for Service Enlistment

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) 34/2025, offering opportunities for graduates and postgraduates across diverse professions to serve the nation.

The online registration process will run from Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and close on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

NAF mentions categories of Nigerians eligible

According to the official notice, the enlistment exercise is open to Nigerian citizens between the ages of 20 and 32.

However, consultants in the medical field may apply up to the age of 40. Interested candidates are required to apply free of charge through the NAF recruitment portal.

Applicants must meet a set of academic and professional qualifications. The minimum requirement is a Second Class Upper Division degree or its equivalent for HND holders.

Those with higher academic qualifications such as MSc or MA, as well as professional certifications from recognized bodies, will have an added advantage to get into NAF.

Candidates must also possess credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, along with three other subjects relevant to their field of study.

NAF releases guidelines for recruitment

The guidelines stipulate that candidates must present key documents including a Local Government Area Attestation Form, Parent or Guardian’s Consent Form, and an Acknowledgement Form, which must be printed after completion of the application process.

These forms are to be endorsed by senior officials such as military officers not below the rank of Wing Commander, police officers of the rank of Assistant Commissioner and above, or substantive local government chairpersons, among others.

Eligibility also requires a minimum height of 1.66m for males and 1.63m for females, with applicants expected to be medically, physically, and psychologically fit under the standards of the Nigerian Air Force. Those with prior criminal convictions will not be considered.

Serving personnel are eligible to apply provided they have completed a minimum of ten years of service and hold the rank of at least Corporal, supported by recommendations from their commanders.

Medical doctors applying must present evidence of full registration with statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.

Additionally, applicants must hold an NYSC discharge certificate or a letter of exemption.

The Nigerian Air Force also confirmed that a zonal aptitude test will be scheduled at a later date, which will be communicated through the recruitment portal.

African Union invites applications for roles

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the African Union had announced recruitment for seven key positions for qualified candidates.

These seven roles ranged from logistics and medical warehouse management to market intelligence and ERP systems.

Prospective applicants with HND, BSc, or MSc qualifications were encouraged to apply through the online jobs portal.
