Olukoya warns against rebellion
Addressing the new ministers, Olukoya warned against rebellion, carelessness, and self-appointment in ministry, urging them to serve with humility, holiness, integrity, and loyalty.
He explained that no one becomes effective in ministry without divine recommendation, adding that “the first rule in the school of the anointed is that they must be recommended by God. Only God can do this, not rebellion, not self-appointment.”

The cleric likened spiritual leadership to mentorship, noting that “there can be no Joshua without Moses, no Elisha without Elijah.” He urged the newly ordained ministers to examine their lives carefully and ensure they lived as true shepherds.
According to him, “you must be a sheep shepherd, not a sheep scavenger. Shepherds who are terrorists are not successful at work. You must be diligent. This is working for God, not man.”
Olukoya mentions why many ministers fail
Olukoya reminded the ministers that many who fail in ministry do so not because of a lack of talent or charisma but due to neglect of holiness and obedience to God.

He prayed for them not to fall away after their ordination and congratulated them for their calling.
The conference also addressed leadership pitfalls and ministerial ethics. Sessions included “100 Pastor Killers,” “100 Mistakes Pastors and Leaders Make,” “50 Characteristics of Pastors Who Finished Well,” and “Ministry Versus Ethics Bondage.”
Mrs Olukoya lectures female ministers
His wife, Pastor Shade Olukoya, spoke on “The Role of Women in God’s Army,” where she encouraged female ministers to rise above limitations and embrace their role as key players in spiritual leadership.
Professor Albert Oikelome, Head of Music at the University of Lagos, also delivered a lecture on music appreciation. He challenged ministers to see church music as more than entertainment, describing it as a vital tool of worship and evangelism.
“Every branch should invest in its music department because music sets the atmosphere for God’s presence,” he said.
The conference featured health talks, medical checks, and deliverance prayers. It ended with Dr Olukoya expressing gratitude to the organising team and acknowledging leaders such as Pastor Abiodun Ladejola and Pastor Clement Imoru for coordinating the ordination programme.
