‘’He started working on the site since July 2021 and on the day the incident happened, he left the house as early as 5am. I prayed for him when he was leaving and when he got to the site, he called and said, honey, I have gotten to the site.
‘’So that faithful day, I was at my place of work when one of my pastor, Pastor Tayo Ogunbiyi called me. He called asked what the name of the street of the site where my husband works. I told him its Gerard Road, Ikoyi. He then informed me that the building just collapsed.
‘’So he is the one that made me to know and immediately I heard, I was not myself again. So as early as Tuesday, along with my pastors and everybody we were at that point but we were not allowed to go in, but my Pastor later had the opportunity to enter. He then interviewed the food vendor and asked if she knows one Mr. Oladunni and she said yes
She then told him that she saw him when he came down to eat. She said he took the food, washed his hand and just as he was about to start eating, Mr Osibona called him and told him those they were scheduled to have a meeting with had arrived and so he went back in.
She says the woman confirmed that it was not up to five minutes later that the building collapsed.
Oladunni further stated:
‘’And since the first day of November, I’ve not heard anything concerning my husband. They went to hospitals, to the morgue everywhere searching. Till now as I’m talking with you, he has not been seen. The children are asking, where is our father. The relatives have been at Ikoyi, they said they should put down their blood for DNA.
‘’Up till now since they collected the blood, we have not heard from the government at all and I have been in pain since the first of November. I’ve not heard from my husband. I cannot call him, I don’t know his whereabout.'.
''What is the government doing? We are talking about life here. The family is confused. Me that I’m his wife, I don’t know what to do. The church and everybody around are in confusion. With four children. Please the government should come and help me to look for my husband."
