Eventually, she backed off, as she stopped hearing from the team and told herself her script wasn’t good enough. However, as the video was rolled out shortly after Davido’s wedding, Kelechi noticed something.

She said in one of her posts that a substantial part of her script had been implemented in the music video. The core theme and ideas were used, with a few tweaks.

In her words:

"I wrote a script for @davido‘s 10KILO sometime in April and pitched it to Davido and his team in May. I was sending emails almost every other day because I was determined to be part of the project if they decided to put out a video for the song."
"The last time I reached out was on the 21st of May, but I never got any feedback. I just told myself maybe the script wasn’t good enough, or maybe they simply didn’t like it. So I stopped sending those emails. I even made posts here on X about the script."

"Did you even reach out to Davido to express your displeasure or concern? Maybe the same concept you are thinking , is what the director had in mind too that’s why he did not get back to you. Maybe !! But either ways , I’m really sorry you feel this way."

"Even tho, have you checked yourself, what you may have done wrong? That aside, was there not a written agreement before this or did he press your neck to do it 😂😂😂This won’t solve anything imo."

"So, you are so little minded that you shared scrip with full details without waiting for approval or agreement?"

"Your idea mad like mad. I'm sure no other person will ever reason to use Plus size women for that video. I trust TG Omori, he wouldn't have agreed to steal ur ideas, just pack men with enough beards come dance to "Orobo 10 kilo"."

@Symply_Keerahh siad:

"Next time, don't send them your work. Just reach out to them first to see if they're willing to see what you have."

Daniel Regha's review berates Davido’s ‘5ive’ album

According to a previous report by Legit.ng, Daniel Regha’s April 18, 2025, X review of Davido’s 5ive album rated it 2/10, slamming it for weak lyrical content.

Regha specifically called out “10 Kilo” for using “Orọbọ”, a term he argued promotes body shaming, and criticised Davido’s wordplay.

Despite the harsh critique, Regha acknowledged Davido’s strategic international collaborations and strong beats, admitting they saved the album from being a complete flop.
