“She didn’t cook, didn’t clean” - Justice

Justice said his decision to leave was rooted in his personal expectations of marriage, shaped by his Midwest upbringing.

He stated:

“I’m looking at my mom, I’m a Midwest guy. So in my mind, I’m thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean. And I’m thinking, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with? At that time, she didn’t cook, didn’t clean, didn’t really seem motherly.”

For Justice, this wasn’t just about domestic habits; it was about imagining a future family life.

Young, naive, and no therapy

The ex-baseball player admitted that he was young and inexperienced when they tied the knot. In fact, the actress was only in his second serious relationship.

Looking back, he believes their marriage could have been saved if they had known about counseling.

He reflected.

“If I had known about therapy, maybe we could have worked through it"

But at the time, he says, they were both set in their ways, and things ended with Berry allegedly letting the public believe he was the cause of the breakup.

From Hollywood love to separate paths

David Justice and Halle Berry married on New Year’s Day in 1993, becoming one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples. Their divorce in 1997 was highly publicized, with rumors and speculation dominating the headlines.

Since then, Justice has been married to Rebecca Justice for 24 years, and they share two children. Berry, now 58, is in a long-term relationship with musician Van Hunt and is a mother to two children from previous relationships.
